Lucas Sanchez

Dr. Lucas Sanchez earned his BA from the University of New Mexico, his MSW from New Mexico State University, and his Doctor of Social Work (DSW) from Tulane University. He serves as an assistant professor in the Master of Social Work program at New Mexico State University, where he teaches clinical practice and research. His background includes clinical work in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency mental health settings, as well as experience in research and leadership. In addition to teaching, he maintains an outpatient psychotherapy practice. Dr. Sanchez’s work focuses on the intersection between clinical practice and research. He is particularly interested in closing the gap between research, academia, and direct-practice.
