Called to Serve: Celia Acosta's Path to Social Work

Celia Acosta is passionate about mental health, self-care, equity, and justice — values she proudly brings into her social work studies. Growing up around social workers inspired her to pursue the profession, and she says choosing NMSU was the perfect fit. As a Las Cruces native, Celia loves giving back to her community while staying engaged on campus. She describes the strong sense of camaraderie with her peers as something truly unique to the School of Social Work.
