Elizabeth Bennett
Elizabeth Bennett is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work. She earned her bachelors in biochemistry from the University of New Mexico and her dual master’s in social work and public health from New Mexico State University. She served in the United Staes Peace Corps from 2015-2017 in Costa Rica as a Youth Development Volunteer. Her practice experience includes 10 years of macro and mezzo level work in program development centering community-based behavioral health programs with an emphasis on person centered approaches, youth engagement, and youth peer support. She currently teaches at the bachelors and maters level, and her areas of interest include the application of mindfulness-based approaches to support provider wellbeing, enhance client outcomes, and advance anti-oppression initiatives, and the empowerment of young people to recognize and embrace their power to create meaningful change.
