Kimberly Knox

Kimberly Knox is an Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at New Mexico State University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Western Connecticut State University, a MSW and a Ph.D. in Special Education form NMSU. She is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), a level 3 school social worker, and a Board Certified Clinical Social Work Supervisor. Her work focuses on supporting children and families with disabilities in schools, social work workforce development, and pre-service training gaps for School Social Work. Her practice experience as a family therapist and school social worker informs her research and outreach in the professional development needs for school social workers in special education, ethics, advocacy, and evidence-based practices. She is the recipient of the Personnel Development to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities Program--Preservice Improvement Enhancement Grants to Support Related Service Providers to Effectively Serve Children with Disabilities and Their Families (ALN # 84.325S) from the Department of Education, Office of Special Education programs.
