For CYFD Staff- Protective Services
The Multiethnic Placement Act of 1994 (MEPA), as amended by the Interethnic Adoption Provisions of 1996, prohibits discrimination in foster care and adoption decisions on the basis of race, color or national origin. In this training, we will explore our own values and assumptions regarding race, color and national origin in foster care and adoptive placements, review the requirements of the law and the consequences of non-compliance, and identify strategies to ensure compliance.
