Foster Care Candidacy in In Home Services
Mandatory Training for:
- IHS Workers,
- IHS Supervisors
- COMs directly supervising IHS,
- Regional Managers are invited to attend this training
Training Focus: Through the participation of the Title IV-E Administrative Cost Review pilot in July 2011, it was determined that In Home Services serves the population best suited for foster care candidacy (FCC). This training will teach the components necessary to determine and document FCC in an IHS case.
What is a Foster Care Candidate? A candidate for foster care is a child who is at serious risk of removal from home as evidenced by the state agency either pursuing his/her removal from the home or making reasonable efforts to prevent such removal.
